Five Amish children, Emma Hochstetler, 12, Elizabeth Hochstetler, 6, Nancy Hochstetler, 4, Levi Hochstetler, 2 and Rudy Hochstetler, 1, passed away April 29, 2020, when the buggy they were in was swept away in a swollen creek near their home.  They were all laid to rest together in the Slate Bend Amish Community Cemetery in Peasticks.  The Michael R. Seth Thomas Bowles, 20, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born Oc. 29, 1999, to Bailey and Rosemary Martin Bowles of Moorefield, KY.  A graveside service will be held at Longview Cemetery.

Cameron Paul Tedder, 16, of Carlisle, Kentucky passed away on April 27, 2020. 
Cameron was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Eric and Sunshine Tedder on July 8, 2003.

Pauline Williams Marshall, 74, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020. at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.  She was born on August 10, 1945 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late James Luther Williams and Clara Mae McAllister Williams.  Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens

James Everett Cooper, 81, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at his home following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held Jan. 7, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Lee Jent and Pastor Butch Kelsey officiating.  Burial was in Hillsboro Cemetery with full military honors by Flemingsburg Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 and American Legion Post No. 5.

Janice Wade Wasson, 80, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at Nicholasville Nursing and Rehab. She was the widow of Rev. Norman Harold Wasson after 54 years of marriage.​

Mary Aileen Reynolds Purnell, 59, of Salt Lick, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Feb. 17, 1960, in Springfield, Ohio, she is the daughter of Betty Pelfrey Reynolds of Salt Lick and the late Tott Reynolds.  

Funeral services were held Dec. 23, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Caldwell officiating.

Lena Mabel McGlone, 87, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.  She was the widow of Charles Lee David McGlone.

Delmar Dean Applegate, 67, of Tollesboro, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at his home. 

Born Feb. 3, 1952, in Mason County, he was the son of the late Carl Douglas and Betty Fite Applegate.  

​Funeral service was held Feb. 5, at Maysville Seventh Day Adventist Church in Orangeburg with Pastor Harold Ashcraft officiating.  Burial was in Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell.

Artie Turner Smoot, 82, of Owingsville, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020.  ​

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vearl Turner and Lena Stewart Turner; and a grandson, Seth Thomas Risner.
