January

The Christian Social Service Center, located at 44 Coyle St. in Owingsville, was featured.

Sister Kathleen Mulchrone, beloved Kentucky missionary, was in our spotlight for the week.

February

Hinton Mills celebrated their 36th annual seed days.

Fleming county freshman learned some hard truths and consequences of real-life scenarios during the Truth and Consequences program with keynote speaker Forest Quillen as he shared his story of drugs and how some of his poor choices impacted his life.

Local artisan and doll maker, Charlotte Meadows, life-like newborn dolls had starring roles in the television series The Good Doctor.

Employees at A Raymond Tinnerman Manufacturing Company collected and delivered items for the Back-Pack program.

Fleming County’s Dulin Hill School was featured from memories shared by Fleming county native Evelyn Pearl Carpenter.

National FFA and FBLA week was spotlighted.

The C & O Train Depot in Mt. Sterling was one of our weekly feature stories.

Guest writer, Mr. Tom Byron shared his story on the Renovations and Recollections of the Old Shrout garage in Owingsville.

Ada Reed wins county-wide Essay Contest

Mason County class of 2019 held their annual art exhibit.

April

The Founding of Mayslick was featured

The Bath county Fishing Team competed in the state tournament.

Child Abuse Awareness Month was recognized

The Dinner Bell Country Market celebrated its five-year milestone.

Owingsville Mayor Gary Hunt shared his article on Minihan Saddle becoming Kentucky’s Official saddle.

Students from Montgomery County High School brought down the house with their musical “Newsies”

Nicholas County High School Agriculture program was selected to receive an Ag Achiever Grant from the Kentucky FFA Foundation.

The early days of Reynoldsville, a small village in Bath county, was featured

Becky Smith, a student at Owingsville Elementary School received recognition for designing the shirt for the seventh annual Child Abuse prevention conference.

May

Sharpsburg residents enjoyed a day to honor ancestors with a special program held at the Community Center.

Mrs. Clarine Crockett Higgens, former Bethel and Sharpsburg native aged 107 passed away.

Marvin Suit shared his vast knowledge of Fleming County History during one of his highly anticipated history walks

The Doll and Toy museum in historic downtown Carlisle was featured

Ewing student, Evan Johnson, grows a gigantic cabbage plant.

The Fleming County Masons presented Hillsboro Students with perfect attendance with a new bicycle.

The Blue Licks Lodge No. 495 provided new bicycles for all Nicholas County students with perfect attendance.

William Derrick Foudray was featured in a historic look back at the Hatter from Hillsboro.

June

Area Farmer’s Markets opened for the summer

The history of Bath County’s famous Olympian Springs was featured

Former students from the Bethel and Sharpsburg schools enjoyed a reunion held at the Sharpsburg Community center.

William Calk, a Kentucky Pioneer, and the history of the Fairview Church in Sharpsburg were featured

Fleming County Tourism members kicked off Covered Bridge Week

July

History buffs enjoyed learning about the old days of Ringo Mills during the Supper on the Bridge event.

Ale-8 One, Kentucky’s iconic soda turned 93 years old.

Murder and Mayhem at the old Flemingsburg train depot was the weeks feature story.

State grants $9.3 million for Bath County Judicial Center

August

Famed television star and Fleming County native, Johnny Jett, helps members of the Nicholas County Historical Society with renovations on cabin built by Daniel Boone.

Local Author, Ricky Wilson, publishes sequel to book about “Living off the Grid”.

Flemingsburg First Presbyterian Church celebrates 200th anniversary of their churches current building.

The history of Fleming County’s Bruce Family was revealed in a letter written in 1914.

The May’s Lick Mill celebrated 50th anniversary

September

The chance to Relax and rejuvenate in some of the areas most scenic hometown getaways were featured in a local tourism series about outdoor adventures in Bath, Fleming, Mason, Nicholas and Montgomery counties.

The Dinner Bell in Flemingsburg host annual customer appreciation days.

Fleming County’s Young at Heart Homemakers were highlighted

Mt. Sterling Court Days, a Centuries Old Celebration was the weeks feature story.

Nicholas County’s beloved newspaper stringer, Tom Payne, was remembered.

The history of streets lights in small towns was featured.

One of Fleming County’s most anticipated events, Dinner with the Departed, was once again a huge success.

Bath County students complete “Labor of Love” project, a blessing box for the community of Sharpsburg.

The first pumpkin festival was held at the Fleming County Extension office.

November

Appleton Ballard, one of Fleming County’s Pioneer citizens, was the topic of our weekly historical sketch.

Early Bath County pioneers were featured

Nicholas County FFA Chapter excels in national competition.

A tree lighting ceremony to honor lost loved ones was held on the court house lawn during the festivities surrounding the Carlisle/Nicholas County Christmas parade

The annual Christmas Fest was held in Ewing
