Bath County Softball program recognizes McKenna Moore


On Friday, Jan. 3, Coach Kenny Williams presented McKenna Moore with a plaque recognizing her for being selected Class A first Team All-State by the Kentucky Coaches Association. She is the first in Bath County to receive this honor.


Bath County recently recognized McKenna Moore, one of Bath Counties most decorated players, for her accomplishments during her softball career at Bath County High School.

The four-time Ashland Daily Independent all-area softball team member earned three trips to the Southeast Coaches Association All-Star games, Moore was one of the only sophmores to ever earn a spot on those coveted rosters, twice selected as a East/West Jr./Sr. All-Star, the first Bath County player to earn a trip to the Kentucky East/West All-Star Events and she was also nominated for Miss Kentucky Softball her senior season.

Moore’s .428 batting average, 197 hits, 142 runs scored, 97 games started in the Circle, 61 wins, 580 strikeouts, three career 2.64 earned run average are all tops in the Bath County softball record books.

She was selected second team All-State her junior year and unanimous Class A first team All State her senior year as chosen by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association. She will rightfully take her spot in the trophy case located at the entrance of the gym as one of the very few Bath County athletes to be selected first team All-State here in Kentucky.
