Three long-standing employees and a highly established director have retired within the past few months at Peoples Bank of Kentucky.
Frank L. “Bud” Hinton recently celebrated his retirement from the board of Peoples Bank of Kentucky after nearly 33 years of service.
Bud was elected to the board in 1987 and served as chairman for many years.
“Some of my best friends are people I have served with on the Peoples Bank board. I’ll continue to stay friends and connected with these folks. I couldn’t be prouder of what we have accomplished during the past 33 years,” Bud said.
His grandfather, Frank L. Hinton, served as a longtime board member and president of Peoples Bank until his retirement in 1971.
Buds son, Matt Hinton, was recently elected to serve as a board member for Peoples Bank of Kentucky, which now has 10 locations throughout the area.
Debbie Cooper began what would become a life-long career at the Peoples Bank of Flemingsburg 36 years ago.
Her first job was in the bookkeeping department before she moved up to the position of trust officer.
After she graduated from Lewis County High School, Debbie started her first job at Palmer’s Super Value and she also worked for Campbell Home Furnishings.
“Peoples Bank is a good place to work. I will miss the customers and the bank employees,” Debbie said.
Georgianna Sparks began her career at People’s Bank 37 years ago and is also looking forward to her retirement.
“On May 6, 1983, I started out as a teller, but worked in bookkeeping a week to learn customers. They were remodeling the front lobby, so they sent me to West Water Street to the branch with Judy Stephens. Judy was a wonderful teller and teacher. People’s Bank encouraged me to learn and learn, and I did. I got my American Institution of Banking diploma and my Kentucky School of Banking diploma. The summer before they gave me an office to open accounts, I was head teller and had my own teller drawer and opened new accounts from the window. Peoples Bank has been very good to me and I have done my best for them. I am looking forward to my new chapter in life, but I will miss my bank family,” Georgianna said.
Jeff Tranbarger, head of commercial lending, is also ready to enjoy his retirement after 34 years of service.
“We can’t thank these individuals enough for their dedicated commitment to our bank and their years of service, helping our community. We recognize them for their dedication and loyalty.
Peoples Bank of Kentucky would like to personally honor Frank L (Bud) Hinton, who is the longest-serving board member in Peoples Bank of Kentucky history—being on the board for almost 33 years!
Please join Peoples Bank of Kentucky in wishing these valuable employees and our former director the best with their retirements,” stated a representative of Peoples Bank.
